About Us
Goodie Drop is a St. Albert-based business founded by local educator and lifelong maker Shannon Boyer.
With more than 25 years of experience as an educator, Shannon brings creativity, thoughtfulness, and a keen eye for detail to everything she creates.
As a mom of two, Shannon knows how much the small details can add to a celebration. Her kids also keep her well informed about what children are currently excited about, which helps inspire Goodie Drop designs and collections that feel fresh, fun, and age-appropriate.
Goodie Drop was created to make it easier for local families to add something memorable to birthdays, celebrations, teams, and special occasions, without adding another project to their own to-do list.
How It All Began
When my son turned seven, I realized at the last minute that I had completely forgotten about goodie bags.
With no time left in an already busy day, I did what a lot of parents would do. I went straight to Amazon and ordered a package of video-game-themed loot bags.
When they arrived, I couldn't believe how cheap they felt. I was embarrassed to hand them out, and even worse, I knew most of what was inside would quickly become more plastic clutter that our family, and probably the other families, would eventually throw away.
The extra bags were shoved into the back of a closet with the leftovers from past birthdays, never to be seen again.
That experience stayed with me.
I kept thinking there had to be a better way to make birthday goodie bags feel fun and special without adding another job to a parent's already long to-do list.
That's where Goodie Drop began.
I wanted to create a service that helps busy families give kids goodies they'll actually be excited to receive, without the last-minute scrambling, the piles of leftovers, or all the cheap, forgettable stuff our kids seem to keep handing out and bringing home.
